First of all,
Mallory I saw you on TV!!! So cool to see my sister from accross the
world, I was freaking out!! Keep your eye out for Tahei and Teina Niks
cousins, they enter the MTC This week!!! Also, I like your fiesta friday
thing, we did almost the same thing haha, but we called it Journal
Jamming haha we would eat food, listen to music, and write in our
journals in our jammies haha. I have like the same type of pics too haha
lots of hermanas, lots of food, and lots of bunkbeds. The elders all
had their "shoe shine shindig" which was basically the same thing with
shoe shining. Oh CCM soooo fun I miss it sometimes!! But the field is
AWESOME! Oh and yes mallory I'm glad you understand what I'm talking
about with Chileans now haha good thing my comp is peruvian and SUPER
EASY to understand haha. Also its good to see pics of Salt Lake City!
Agh I really really miss it! We really take having so much church
support close by for granted!!
To answer questions, YES I GOT THE PACKAGE THIS WEEK!!!!
IT WAS LITERALLY THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK
YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! Agh Mal you have NO idea how spoiled you
are!! I'm loving the candy and treasuring it!! For Christmas.... Hmmm
I'll think... One thing I do want is REALLY NICE leather covers (Like
the ones with the pictures of Christ and stuff engraved in them) for my
spanish scriptures. There are lots of people that make them here and
some are good and some are terrible. So me and my comp have been
comparing quality and prices. They are kinda pricey but I would loooove
some for Christmas. As far as package Ideas Idk! Anything. I'll
probably want more strawberry mentos haha but I'll think about it and
let you know! The weather is warming up! When I got here it was kinda
cold and at nights in the field its been FREEZING. But the past two or
three days have been great!
SPENCER!!! I'm SO DANG PROUD!! WAY TO GO!!!!! What subject did you compete in!!!??
Ok.
So story time. While I've been here I've realized how lucky we are to
have the gospel in our lives and how lucky we are to be in Utah where
the church is so strong! Being in the CCM here was so fun but at first
really difficult because I really didn't feel like it was this strong
spiritual experience because I couldn't understand any of the talks at
first! And I felt like we never got any messages from the General
Authorities. So I decided to pray. Haha I told my district that I was
going to pray for an Jeffrey R Holland to come. They all made fun of me,
later a few of them joined in but mostly people just didn't take it
seriously. But I didn't care I prayed and prayed SOOOOOO HARRRDD. I told
Heavenly Father that I was here to do his work but I needed guidance
from His leaders, I told him that even if it was just a recording of a
talk in English from Elder Holland I would take that as my answer. And
we got recordings of talks from Jeffrey R Holland each week in English
for 4 weeks. DEFINITELY an answer to my prayer. So cool. I was really
excited for General Conference this week too because we would get to
watch it in English and learn from our Church leaders so far away. It
went great, it was SOOO fun I love my Zone. (Elder Schade is in my
zone! I saw him 4 times this week I think haha) Anyway so then we were
in Zone class talking about conference and the zone leaders got up and
said that next month and apostle is coming..... ELDER HOLLAND IS COMING
TO OUR MISSION IN A MONTH We had an apostle in our mission less than a
year ago and now Elder Holland is going to be here!!!!!. I can't even
tell you how I'm feeling right now. Like I know it might be funny that I
prayed for Elder Holland to come but wow to me I was dead serious and I
KNOW that God answers prayers. He listens, and if it is his will, he
will answer your prayers with Miracles.
Thanks for the testimonies from Jake and Brynn, haha
mom and dad now can I have yours?? I would love for you to bear your
testimonies about the blessings of obeying commandments, how the gospel
blesses your famiy, and the importance of raising kids in the gospel
(and if you want to sneakily throw in some testimony about tithing that
would be great too!)
Haha I love knowing I have family and friends supporting me back at home, don't be surprised if I use you guys a lot!!
This
week will you pray for MariaEugenia, Patricia, Carolina, Ernesto, and
the familia Lagos? They are our investigators and we need A LOT of help.
Its hard because we have so many lessons and commitments fall through
but we are trying so hard!!! I gave my first baptisimal invitation
yesterday! MariaEugenia said yes.... then no when we asked her to commit
to a date.... bummer. Oh well, we are trying!!! But please keep these
people in your prayers!!!
DAd I heard them talk about your comp in conference!
I freaked out! Haha man, Conference WAS AWESOME. It really is like
Christmas. I've never loved it or looked forward to it more in my
life!!! Haha I missed Grammys Chocolate Chip cookies though!!! Haha so
my comp bought me some Chips ahoy and surprised me with them, she is so
nice.
Spanish is coming..... I mostly understand, I'm
starting to be able to converse more which is AWESOME. But I still have
far to go haha. Keep me in your prayers, I pray for you all so much!!
Love you!!
Sincerely,
Hermana Kyrstin Millett
ps the pics are at Santa Lucia, we went there this pday, my first time in Jeans in 8 weeks!
This is a note from Kyrst's mom: I have found a way to send that little paragraph to Elder Holland. I thought it might be fun.
