Two Weeks of Letters!

So Troy's main home computer stopped working this week right before I was able to sends Kyrst letter out last week.  She sent so many pictures that I only included a few.  You can go to her blog if you want to see the others.

So this next week we have transfers. Im pretty sure Im just gonna kill hna orton (remember thats just a mission phrase haha, its her last transfer until she goes home so I think Ill be her last comp) BUT I am a little nervous about whats gonna happen because this week at our leadership council meeting president came and sat with us during lunch and asked us about the pros and cons of being together in a companionship as STLs and he said one of the big reasons why he doesnt feel sure about it is because he cant use us as trainers if we are together. Neither of us have trained and I know hna orton has wanted to. Honestly even though she has just one transfer left I think she could end up training because she is AMAZING. Seriously one of the best missionaries that Ive met on my mission. A newbie would learn more from her in one change than they could from anyone else. But yeah pres said that he wanted to use us as trainers so he wasnt sure what to do...... sooooooo we will see. Me and hna orton think itd be fun to train together in a trio. I hope thats what happens. And if not I dont want anything to happen because I LOVE IT HERE. I love this ward, our investigators, the recent converts, everything. I just love it to death. I hope I spend the rest of my mission here. BUT..... we will see.

We did get to see the womens conference, it ended at 11 (normally we have to be in the pension at 10:30 our mission schedule is an hour later than normal ones for cultural reasons haha because no one gets up around 6:30 and they eat lunch at 2:00 and everyone works and dont get home from work till 8:00) so pres gave us permission to watch it as long as a member took us home afterwards. We had to watch it in spanish which was alright but Ill be watching conference in English thank goodness. I understand fine in spanish but their voices arent as entertaining. And when the people from spain speak it just sounds like someone with a lisp talking which just makes me laugh. But I looooooooooved the music. Loved it loved it loved it. After singing "Soy un Hijo de Dios" for so long it becomes natural and you dont think about it too much but then when they were singing "Im a Child of God" it really struck me how powerful that statement was. Like it really felt like they were just powerfully stating or testifying to the world that they new their divine heritage and I loved being able to sing along in English to be able to say with all of my heart that I am a child of God. It was a cool moment for me.

Happy birthday becca doo!!!! Wow. 11 years. You are all gettin so dang big. Hhahahaha I totally remember my face being all puffy when you guys tried to get the halloween make up off, I didnt realize that it gave me two black eyes though. Poor becca, how is her face doing now?

We did divisions this week with an hermana that got to the mission at the same time as me and her little newbie. It was fun, I went with the little newbie and we got to talk a lot, it was fun remembering how I felt when I was in her shoes. I cant believe how fast the time has passed by.

Well. This week we had another lesson with Omar. He is the sweetest thing ever and has such great desires to learn. Its so great teaching him.  So pray for him please.

Today we are going to go teach Pato. We havent been able to get ahold of him in a while and then yesterday we finally did. But he sounded pretty bajoneado. (idk what that is in english... sad, down, bummed, idk) but he has been reading the book of mormon and is gonna meet with us today. PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM! He hasnt prayed yet, he still feels uncomfortable doing it. So PLEASEPLEASE pray for him so that he will feel the need, and desire to pray.

Oh yeah I gave a talk this week in sacrament meeting. Surprisingly that was my first time while here in the mish. Because in pocuro their were so many people and so many missionaries that there was no need, and here in sotero after a bad experience with a different hermana like a year back they havent let the missionaries do it again hahaha until like a week or two ago when the speaker didnt show up so they asked hna orton and then they asked me to prepare one for this week. It went well. I had to talk for like 30 min because they only have two speakers each week and the first one ended hers like 10 min earlier than she shouldve. Fun stuff.

Well. Thats all for today, I love you guys!!!

Well. Im sorry that your week was rough mal. Ill be prayin for ya!

My week was kinda really awesome......... So General Conference. sooooooo awesome! I loved All of the talks but I really liked how Elder Anderson, Christofferson, Pres Uchtdorf and others talked about absolute and eternal truths. Thats probably one of the number one problems we struggle with as missionaries here in Santiago. Because everyone thinks they can choose their way to receive salvation or that if our doctrine isnt exactly what they had in mind it cant be true because God somehow has to work and exist only according to their personal opinion. For reals its reeeeeaaaaaaalllllly hard to get people to realize that no matter what we believe or what we want to think God is God and HE has eternal and absolute truths that dont change no matter what we want to think. God has given us a way to receive salvation and we cannot simply decide that we would rather do it another way and get the same result. Im gonna be whipping out these talks for allllll of the people we have been teaching.

As far as changes this week. I didnt get changed. Yipee! So Ill be killing hermana Orton, I assume we will still have a bunch of companionships to do divisions with and I will probably end my mission in this sector! YAY! (because I have three transfers left, 1 with hna orton, 1 teaching the sector to someone else, and probably just staying here for the next one) Poor Hna Orton will not get the chance to train , and I kinda dont know if I will either if things keep going the way they are. But thats ok Ill do whatever the lord wants me to!

Oh good Im glad you were able to print off those names mom! I have a few that are printed off with me here... theyve been waiting for a long time now but they were 5 or so names that I feel like I really came to feel closer to during all of the time I spent looking up family history work and I would like to do the work for each of them personally when I get the chance. their baptisms are already done but then just need initiatories and endowments.

So this week we had quite a few awesome miracles. First of all Omar has a fecha to get baptized!!!!! His date is set for 9 de noviembre so pllllleeeaaaasseee pray a lot so that he can get baptized on that date. He is litterally a Golden investigator. He came to saturday conference and really enjoyed it, he is progressing super well and already feels like he has a testimony of the book of mormon and everything. So please pray lots because I feel like Satan always has something up his sleeve and I dont want Him to get in the way of Omars progress.

So we are working with a family named the family Riffo and lately they havent been progressing too much which was super sad because they came to church for a month and had an awesome tour of the temple and everything. So hermana Orton and I decided to fast for them and a few other people we were thinking of to help them do better. Hermana Orton told me she was pretty sure we needed to talk more about Joseph Smith. So as we planned we felt like we should watch the Joseph smith movie with them. Its kinda long but we felt like it was the best thing we could do. So we watched it and at the end the spirit was so strong you could cut it with a knife. The mom (who had been doubting the most) said that it cleared up so many of the doubts that she had had about Joseph Smith and that she would read the Book of Mormon and pray about it even though after that she already believed that he was a true prophet. It was such a miracle, the whole family kinda just switched their perspective on things around, its SOOOO important to have a testimony of Joseph Smith, and just seeing a little bit of what he did in his life can help so much in gaining a testimony.

Well I gotta go write some other letters. Love you all! Have a great week!
