This week has been interesting, my comp was called as a sister
training leader, so we will be doing divisions every week and we will
have lots to do with meetings and stuff!!
There
was a temblor this week!! Dont know how to say it in english... mini
earthquake? SCARED THE CRAP OUTTA ME. Seriously I was terrified. We
were sitting at the table and I was writing in my journal and the table
started to shake and I look up at my companion, she saw how terrified I
was and to calm me down (because two of the other hermanas were
screaming in the other room) she told me to count to 20 slowly and if it
didnt stop we would get somewhere more secure, so we sat still at
counted to 20 it stopped at like 15.... freak though I was soooo
scared!!! I cried... wow, you dont realize how fast something like that
can just come on! And you never know if its gonna be something little or
something devastatingly huge. Luckily it was small, and Im fine.
Well, I got the flu this week. That was no fun. Me
and my comp decided we would rather be out in the heat with people
slamming the door in our faces than have to stay inside any more because
someone is sick.
I got the other package mom! Hermana Mckinley
wrapped it and she said she saw the stuff that was for me and my comp
and its all taken care of haha
I got my cases! I
havent seen them because they are wrapped but all of the hermanas in my
apartment said they are GORGEOUS, I saw my companions cases, they are
way cool, so Ill show you on christmas!
Ive decided that this is going to be a super
different christmas but because of that it has to be the absolute best
christmas. I was so touched to see how much Heavenly Father blessed me
this week. I was kinda down last week, missing you all and missing
Christmas and seriously it was like every day a member or investigator
did something to make me feel so loved and I realized that out here
baptisms or no, I am making a difference in the lives of these people, I
love them and they love me. This is going to be the best Christmas of
my life and I cant wait to talk to you guys!!!
With love, Kyrstin Millett
Well, it was fun to talk to you guys, I was freaking out before hand
because I didn´t want to get all homesick and it was hard to say goodbye
and everything but in the end it was great. Biggest miracle was how I
felt afterwards. (And I don´t mean this as an offense to you guys
because I love you and miss you all) I hung up, looked at my comp, wiped
my tears off and thought oh well lets go. We walked back to our
pension and when I walked in I felt home. I was like yess I´m
hooooommmee!!!!! Haha I seriously felt like, well just talked to my
fam.... theyre the same..... I´m not missing a thing. This is my home
and I have work to do. So we got all our stuff in the apartment and
went to work and I haven´t felt homesick since! Miracle. Seriously I
was DYING before Christmas doing everything I could to just not feel
homesick and now I feel GREAT. I LOVE it here I really do. I feel like
I got all the negative stuff out with you guys (Sorry) and now I just
feel good. I love these people, they are my second family and I sure as
heck don´t know what I´ll do when Ill have to leave them. So yeah all
is good.
I never see streets that are empty of any traffic
Grammy's Christmas Package
Christmas Morning with the Hermanas
Glad you guys got the packages too!!!! haha hope they
liked it all and hope you liked the pics, the next time I send my memory
card I´ll try to take some more videos to say hi or something
So this week we went to pirque for pday, that was an adventure...
so sorry I have less time to write because we were traveling forever.
But it was interesting to see a different part of my mission the CAMPO
it was so nice and peaceful, there weren´t cars every second, it was
quiet, there were mountains and trees and dirt and fields and a whole
bunch of stuff we don´t have in the middle of the city. But I was
talking to hermana Jennings (Nick and Jackson Emerys cousin, the one
that was in the rich sector El Golf for 11 months then sent to pirque
out in the boonies) and she is having a ROUGH time. She fainted the
second day in the heat and their branch is a mess which makes it really
hard to work with. It made me first of all so greatful for the
WONDERFUL ward I work with that literally dedicates almost every lesson
to missionary work and greatful for such wonderful examples of good
attitudes in my mission, she has such a good attitude even though she is
having the roughest time in her new sector. It was super fun to go
visit them today!!
For the weekend before christmas we went caroling at
a bunch of different houses in a different sector of pocuro each night,
it was amazing to see how each one of the people we visited reacted
differently but they were all grateful for the opportunity to remember
the true meaning of Christmas... definitely organizing that with my next
ward next Christmas!
Then on Christmas eve we went to Ingrids house which
was nice!! For Christmas we ate in the pension for lunch because it got
cancelled.... good ole rice and ketchup (surprisingly really good) then
we went and ate with Luz Maria, Cleber, Cecelia and their families. I
love them all so much and it was AWESOME to see them all together on
Christmas!! (I bet cleber posted pics on FB so if you aren´t friends
with him add him!) And mom I tried to teach Family History!! We went to
go try it with Benjamin (Luz Marias son, that is friends with savannah
on facebook) but we searched and searched and NOTHING, then we found out
the problem, almost NONE of it has been indexed!!!! So we downloaded
indexing and I taught him that! Haha I told him about how fun and simple
it was and we pulled it up and we were like WHATT!?!?!?! In Chile its
like a long document that you have to read through to find out the
information, not just a chart or a list but paragraphs in spanish about
the burial and everything..... not so easy.... not so fun.... no wonder
no one has indexed the Chilean records!! So we did a bit and then we had
to go, the crazy thing was I came back a few days later and his mom was
like, WHAT THE HECK DID YOU TEACH MY SON!! I thought she was mad... but
then she went off about how he hadn´t touched the xbox in days and that
all day instead of sleeping or doing other less useful things he just
indexes and indexes. Haha I was pretty happy. Good ole Benja he
decided that if he couldn´t find his family because it wasn´t indexed
that someone had to start somewhere and he seriously hasn´t stopped
since!! Love this family.
So, super sorry but I don´t have a ton of stories
for you and I don´t have a lot of time because of our adventures today
and because I needed to send pics one at a time haha but I love you all,
hope you have a good week!!
