Sometimes You Just Laugh!

Cambios are this week! So next monday I will let you know what happens. My companion is starting her last transfer so if I stay I´ll be killing her. She is my dad(my second companion) so it would be a little sad to kill my dad where I was born but oh well. Haha so we will see if I go or stay but either way I know it will be what the lord wants. I´d like to go but I also feel like there are a lot of people here that still need me.
Jake you are looking soooo dang tall.

Well. This week has been a fun one. I think more than anything I learned that sometimes when things go really wrong... you just have to laugh. It reminds me the talk by I think Elder David B Haight about just laughing when things go wrong.

I don´t have a lot of time to go into a lot of details but I don´t know sometimes you just realize that holy cow everything can go wrong in a week but if you just laugh about it its all good.

Haha one of my favorite moments this week was when I was giving a recorrido (temple tour) to a bunch of investigators. One was super catholic and asked a question about the prophet and the pope and when I answered I accidentally called the pope "the potato" instead. Hahaha everyone was laughing pretty hard and I like backed up a bit when I was laughing and hit my head suuuuper hard on something that was sticking out of the wall.... so everyone just laughed harder and I laughed with them..

Some great things that happened this week though were the lessons we had with Angelica (the antiguo investigator we met last week) we had an AWESOME lesson and even though we were suuuuuuuper late to our district class because of it we were super happy because its a new family that is suuuuper ready for the gospel.

Haha this pday we got our hands on a monopoly game.  (Don´t worry Nik I won both times) It was super fun to spend time with us six in the pension today... I´m gonna be suuuper sad this transfer if Hermana Mckinley leaves but either way there are gonna be changes in the pension this week which is always a little sad!

Well, I have to go now... I´m gonna try and send pics... I had some pretty good ones of my warmth solution but it doesn´t wanna load so if I don´t send it this week I´ll get it to you next week!
With Love,

Kyrst didn't send pictures, but this is one that I got off of Facebook that someone posted that was taken a few months back.

9 Months!

Can you believe I completed 9 months in the mission this week? How weird is that... The time is going by so fast!

Carli!! You look so dang pretty!! Let me know how prom was!!

Spence! DECA pres that's awesome!!!!

Ha good to see you are practicing Jake! (comments from pictures we sent her)

Wow I wasn´t expecting to hear that about alex mitton either! We will be praying for them!!

Hahaha Mal yep, I broke down and bought the fanny pack (that can also be a backpack or a side bag) the second day of the mission. Its my best friend. Freaking ugly but very comfy.

Oh and Mal, how is it going with the reference I gave you? Hna Cortese told me that if you tell them you are friends of Magali Cortese and her family they will want to see you....

So this week I´ve been going crazy listening to Hill Cumorah Pageant music because I´ve been reading in 3 Nephi 11 and I just cant imagine it without the background music.... pretty sure my companion thinks I´m going crazy haha but I think its a REALLY good thing that we are probably going to go back the summer I get home.... because its just the greatest thing ever.

Haha and yep it basically feels like I skyped with you guys a month ago.... the time here is just so weird.

So this week my comp and I were looking at things and thinking of ways that we can find new investigators because we are in major need.... if you all could pray for us to find some new investigators that would be great. So we decided we would knock every door in our sector before she leaves because its one of our ONLY ways to find people who live in the sector (as long as their nanny doesn´t answer the door).  We have found lots of offices and nannies but little by little we are finding more people that aren´t completely against us passing by again so lets hope we can help more people to start investigating! I´m just sick and tired of everyone telling me I am in the dead sector, that my ward is terrible, etc. I love my ward, I love the people we teach, and if I´m gonna be here practically my whole mission I might as well show people that this sector really does have some potential. So in our quest to find more people we pulled out the area book and went back to find antiguo investigadores.... don´t remember how they say that in english... ancient investigators? Any way, we had already passed by every single person in the area book at least 20 times.... but we decided to go for one again even though the doorbell is broken  (and there are gates around everything so there is no other way to get to someone) but we went there and lo and behold the mom and her kids were all coming out of the gate and she talked to us and we have a lesson set up with her tomorrow... She told us all about how important her family is to her and how even though people may think its weird she is so glad that her kids are doing good things, and don´t go to carretes (parties where they drink, do drugs etc) and just that they live clean lives. We were shocked because seriously all of the young adults, teenagers, etc are all just into terrible stuff and its soooooo rare to find a family that is free from drugs, divorce, drinking, etc so we are soooooo excited to start meeting with this family again, pray for them please!! (her name is Angelica and her husband is Hugo)

Well, I have to go now, but I hope you are all doing well, love hearing from ya'll every week!!

Chaito!

Happy Mother's Day Yesterday

Well. I´m not gonna lie I´m not sure what to say. Not too eventful this week except for of course skyping with you guys last night!
Spence thats so cool about seminary council! And alex way to go on the vocal point camp, when is it? also, I wanna see pics of ICDC in atlanta!

This week we tried knocking a lot more doors because we NEED new investigators. The only ones we have aren´t really progressing so we thought why not contact!? So we did. But as i told you all last night..... none of them are from our sector. We did find one potential investigator though but we have tried to go back a few times and he hasn´t been there but we are trying! I really do love it here in pocuro, I love the people, my ward, how big my sector is compared to many other sectors in the mission, and how people eat healthier here so i haven´t gained as much weight as the rest of the poor missionaries that came to Chile at the same time as me hahaha. But when its time to go I think I´ll be ready for the new adventure! But that could be forever away!
Today we celebrated hermana mckinley´s birthday, so i´ll send some pics of that....
well. love you all. But I´m gonna go spend some time writing someone that I wasn´t able to talk to yesterday if ya know what I mean.
Chau!

Explanation of Pictures:

Hermana cortese completed a year.... so normally the elders burn clothes according to how much time they have completed but we didn´t want to waste any clothes so she burned a sock,
And walking outside temple grounds, the trees like rain sticky sappy goop and all of the leaves stick to your shoes

Hna McKinley's Birthday

Eating at hna luz marias house for lunch, and I saw a cute little cupcake place and I had to go in and try.....

Our cute ward missionaries brought us jello cake for me, hermana zelaya, and hermana mckinleys birthdays

I'm Twenty Now!

Well.... I´m now twenty. thats kinda weird. I´m gettin old! Nah just kidding.

I´m kinda way excited to talk to you guys. It'll be fun. So we were planning on calling around 8:00 my time. is that ok? If not, email me fast and tell me or if I´m not still on send a facebook message to Cleber and he will get the info to me!

Hahaha the boots. what an adventure. We went to see if they could change the color and i wanted a different color of brown... they came out looking like Ronald Mcdonald. So heres what I´m gonna do, i´m gonna take them back and change them to black and give them to my companion because she doesn´t have any boots and she needs some but hers broke and I don´t think she has enough to buy new ones and plus i don´t want black lace ups because i´ll look like the police men here... but she likes that type of style because she is a karate girl hahaha soooo long story short i´m giving them to her because she isn´t going to survive without a pair because its soooooo cold on your legs!!! I´m just hoping one pair will last me haha because i wear them absolutely every day which was why i asked for another pair so that i could switch up and not just wear through one pair in a month or so. But I guess we will see!

haha sorry if i say things that worry you. I guess i´m just honest. I know so many hermanas that never tell their family about any of their struggles or anything because they don´t want their families to worry so they just pretend like its just all super great all the time every second ..... I just prefer telling you about the week without worrying what anyone thinks. The truth is a mission is HARD. not because its hard to walk around all day and talk to people and get rejected and etc. I´m used to that and trying to improve everyday. Its mostly hard because I´m so dang hard on myself. And then I try not being so hard on myself but it doesn´t work haha. Its hard because i try soooo hard to be perfect and its just not possible, plus i didn´t realize how hard it would be to give up my house and habits. Not bad habits but habits like going to the temple. having time to sit down and think about life and stuff without feeling like there is something you should be doing. But the biggest thing is, even though it is really difficult for me it is WONDERFUL. Each time I have something else difficult to deal with its a pain but its soooo great because its always a new problem, meaning I´ve tackled the last thing and overcome it and then the Lord gives me a new one to tackle. So its just never gonna be easy but i´m happy and I can see that the Lord has given me this time to just break away my bad habits and many of my imperfections no matter how painful it is. So a mission is great. SO GREAT. I seriously love it, so don´t worry. I´ll probably keep saying things that worry you but the honest truth is i just don´t have time to think about how what i say will sound I just spit all the info out as fast as I can to get all I want written in time!

Yep! my hair is LONG. Full of split ends which is gross but I´m not cutting it till I get home I´m just gonna let it grow. :)

So my birthday went well. Everyone said it was gonna pour rain so i didn´t do my hair.... it didn´t rain at all.... so i have lovely pics from my bday with my hair and makeup looking terrible.... or I guess just looking like a normal day in the mission haha. I was a bit sad during the first part of the day because I was pretty sure all of the members forgot and idk I just missed you all! I was like man i don´t even care about presents or anything i just want to see all the people i love! But it was good we visited a less active family and they made a little dinner and we ate and talked with them and then in the night time the hermanas wrapped all the package stuff with ensign pages and then we had papa johns!

I was gonna go to hermana Altamirano´s sector to visit her today but I woke up with hooooorrrrible stomach pain and but I wanted to go anyway but finally after a few hours of studying I felt like i should call her and tell her I wasn´t going to be able to make it, so I called and told her that and seriously I hung up the phone and felt completely better.... super wierd! So yeah i ended up just organizing things and talking to hermana mckinley like a normal pday! We had an attack of bugs today.... there is a planter in our living room (bad idea but its been there for years) and one of the hermanas tried to clean out the old weeds there and all of these bugs came out!! it was disgusting. I felt like finally i was able to relate a little to Mals mission hahaha.

I also got to go to the temple this week!!! So I guess its gonna be 8 months more till i can go..... I´m probably gonna die waiting that long. But it was the greatest thing ever going to the temple! We entered to see enrique receive his endowments and get sealed to his wife that passed away. It was the sweetest thing ever and i was SOOOOO happy to be in the temple again it just felt like I was at home. I love being able to just relax and feel the spirit and learn a ton at the same time!

well i have to go now!

Bye!
