Week of Training, Week of Miracles!

Well. Its been a great week. A week ago I fell asleep in a different apartment just thinking WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING??????? But Im feeling a lot better now. MUCH. BETTER.

We got to the meeting where we would get our companion assigned and it was funny because right before hand I went into the mail room to see if I had any mail and I saw a package and it had a sister missionaries name on it that was not mine and I was like.......oooooooh crap. I think I figured out who my comp is before I should have. Oops. Because we are the only hermanas in all of puente alto (which is two whole zones) so if it was for a sister missionary and its not me then it had to be my comp!

So I watched for her as all of the newbies came in haha and sure enough Im training Hermana Clawson. She is from california and she is like the cutest thing ever. She was studying at byu the year before and she is 19. And guess what mom and dad? She is like second cousins with the Southards! So yeah its a small world.

Mom my last companion was from Cottonwood Heights and she will be going to BYU starting this winter :) I sent her with a USB of pics and some chilean stuff that you guys will have to try so hopefully you can get in contact with her or she can with you, her email is taylorton2@gmail.com it was waaaaaaaaaay wierd hearing from her and seeing the pics of her in the USA. It messed with my mind a little bit. But oh well haha.

Omar. He is doing much better. THANK YOU for all prayers said on his behalf. We got to his house this week and he started off by telling us that he felt MUCH better. He had read 2 ne 4 (the chapter we had left with him to read) and said that it helped him feel a lot better and helped him feel more motivated again. Then the next visit we had this week he told us that he picked his baptismal date and he wants to get baptized on the 20th of december. So. Now the desafio (trial? No sé) is getting him to come to the church. He has come and he know he needs to come and says he will come this next week but he didnt come this week or the few before so Im a little worried. But I have so much faith that he will be ready. So PLEASE pray lots for that this week. And yes mom we will take your advice :)

Oh my goodness I cant even believe Elder... I mean Ryan Schade´s face. I hadnt read the email before I looked at the pic and I thought it was alex or spencer for a second when I saw the little pic at the bottom. I about had a heart attack. Yuck. Thats scary. I hope he is doing ok!!! (Boy in our ward who was in a skiing accident).

So this week was a crazy week of miracles. Its been a good one and I really feel so blessed for all that the Lord has done for me and my comp this week. It was really wierd when hermana Orton left, I was kind of really sad and thinking about how she must be doing, what was going on, etc. And I was kinda worried that Id be a bad trainer or that I wouldnt be of much help to my companion and stuff and the first day went alright but I was kinda full of little feelings and worries like that. So then at night and in the morning as I was praying and studying and stuff I really expressed some of that to the Lord and wow I am just so grateful to see how he helped me with that. From that moment on we have been sooooo busy that there just hasnt been time to think. Here are just a few of the many amazing things that happened this week that probably no one but hermana orton would know how big of a deal each of these are haha but for me and for this sector they were HUGE.

1) All of omars doubts went away and he started reading the book of mormon every day

2)Remundo and Jessica (a family we contacted the week before) were actually in their house and we had a lesson with them and will be having another next week.

3) We found Pato. One of our old investigators and actually had a lesson with him and his next door neighbors who are members.

4) Omar decided on a baptismal date

5) We found a less active that hasnt had missionaries pass by since her baptism 10 years ago and are we now starting to teach her family

6) We found Johanna, a lady we had contacted like forever ago that we could never find again after that. We taught her a bit and should be teaching her again today.

7)Mari a less active came to the capilla for the first time in a LOOOONG time just because we called her in the morning!

8) And seriously like a MILLION other things. We have been ridiculously blessed this week.

Haha so yeah. We are doing great. It is so good to have someone so new to things because the have such a great perspective and motivation to do things and try things that sometimes after being in the mission for a long time you just give up or think it wont work or stop trying. But with a new person with all of the ideas and ganas its like the greatest thing. Haha I feel like I am learning so much that she is the one training me. She is a very obedient missionary and has a very strong testimony, its also fun because we have a lot of things in common. Like everything from playing the piano to wearing a sock bun. Haha today for pday everyone got a kick out of seeing my comp with a sockbun because I am like known among the hermanas for my style of clothes and my sock bun haha so when the saw hna clawson walk in they kept telling me how president couldnt have picked a better comp for me haha. I would have to agree. She is pretty great :)

So. thats pretty much it. I have to go write some other letters, but I love you all! Talk to ya next week!

With love,

Kyrstin Millett

Second to Last Transfer!

I cant believe that am on my second to last transfer. WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?!

So I assume you want to know what happened with changes. At the moment Im in Macul on divisions. Which is wierd Ive never done divisions on a pday. But Im gonna be TRAINING. ........... Im gonna give myself a moment to let my heart stop racing. Im a little nervous. Ok maybe a lot. But I think excited at the same time. So I dont know who my comp is yet because the newbies get here from the CCM tomorrow bright and early. So sorry about that you will have to wait until next week to know who Ill be training and if they are gringa or latina unless someone I visit puts a pic on facebook or something.  (And mal and Nik you guys will have to wait yet another week. Sorry)

So as I said before Im on divs in Macul with hna grannis. Its fun because Ill be spending the night with her and hna contreras (my chilean companion) so we will have time to catch up. This whole week feels like I was on divs and running around on buses and the metro. Hna Orton had LOTS of trunky meetings so I went with another hna whose comp was dying this week while our comps had their meetings.

Well. Im excited to hear about what you are planning for spring break. Haha I also had a pretty good laugh when I read that you told the boys that you were gonna visit every county in utah hahahahaha. That would probably be....the worst. Mom and dad will you put the same thing up for me that you put for mal? Except I can receive packages of course if anyone wants to send one haha but yeah it just be nice to hear about how people are doing and stuff for christmas. DearElder is probably the easiest option.

We went to two baptisms this week. Barbaras and Luis´s. It is amazing to see how strong the spirit is in those meetings and how EVERYONE of whatever age (above 8 that is) from whatever walk of life and whatever circumstance needs to make covenants with their heavenly father. I really hope to be able to help a few more in this sector before I leave.

I also got to help with the piano for both. And sacrament meeting. And elder Evans (from the church mission department) is coming again and Ill be playing for that. Im glad to be of use out here playing the piano. Thanks mom and dad for making me learn. Well done. well done.

So. What to talk about. What to talk about. Its been a little crazy seeing my companion getting ready to leave. Crap that looks like its gonna be an emotional rollercoaster. I cannot believe how the time is flying. Christmas is happening THIS TRANSFER! Im also really excited because Im gonna be able to go to the temple this december when Cleber gets his endowments. PRETTY. SWEET.

I need lots of prayers this week Por fis. I hope everything goes well with the new comp, Im gonna try my best but I am a little nervous because its been SOOOOOO long since the beginning of my mish that I have forgotten a lot of what it was really like to be able to really help her out. I dont want to be a lame trainer! Yikes! Also Omar needs some prayers. He is progressing alright but there is something missing, maybe something we dont know yet or that he needs. idk. But will you please pray for us to be able to figure that out and help him come to church? Also will you pray for the family Riffo. I love them to stinking death and they are soooooo sweet and kind and we should be setting a baptismal date so will you pray that they can decide a day and stick to it?

Thanks so much. I love you all! Im really looking forward to the adventures coming up this week. Ill talk to you soon!

With love,

Hna Kyrstin Millett

I Love This!

Well. This week was great. Honestly it wasnt the MOST successful week weve had here but it still went awesome and even if maybe we didnt get the same numbers or anything I was just so dang happy.

First of all to answer questions. Yes mom. its my last week with hna orton :( Next monday Ill be writing you with a new comp and hna orton will be on her way home. Sadness of my life. But oh well. Her time has come. But Ill miss her! She has taught me a LOT and we get along so great. Please pray for her to have the health and energy and strength ( emotional and mental and physical) to get through this week because I think its probably going to be rough. I cant imagine the last week in the mission. Bleh I dont want to imagine it.

Alex! You are gonna do hospitality in DECA?!? I competed in that too!!! Its the best :) Study up on the vocab (Carter has flash cards and stuff) and it will help you a lot :)

Yay Im excited for lil curt to come back. I hope all goes well for him!

Spence YOU LOOK GREAT :) Nice pics. Man you are all getting so much bigger. Ive had some of the little girls here tell me you guys look like one direction haha

Well. Lets see. Lots has been going on and I dont have much time but I just wanted to talk about some overall feelings that I had this week.

Im seriously just so dang grateful for this sector, my amazing ward, the people Ive met, and this opportunity that I have to serve. There are so many people here that I want to stay close to for the rest of my life. As I think about my comp leaving and imagine how it would be for me it just helps me to be so dang grateful for this opportunity to get to know people so kind, so fun, so loving, I literally feel like they have logrado (acheived? No se) a place in the deepest parts of my heart. I love serving them and serving with them. I sure do hope I stay here for the rest of my mission.

Today we also had a meeting with Elder Nelson of the twelve. WOW. It was a pretty cool experience. Im literally exausted from ending a fast today, hiking, waking up at five and everything else but wow it has been a GOOD DAY. I managed to get to the 3rd or 4th row of the chapel. That was cool. And when Elder Nelson came in he shook each of our hands. It was my first time shaking and apostles hand and it was an amazing feeling. I just felt so dang happy and so grateful to have living prophets and apostles here on the earth today. There is a spirit that radiates around him and you can just feel how true this gospel is when you see him speak.

Everything he talked about had to do with making covenants in the temple. One of the things that maybe most struck me was when he said that if someone doesnt go to the temple to receive the ordinances there, their joining the church is kinda pointless. We need baptism and confirmation for salvation but for EXALTATION we need the ordinances of the temple. The mission has helped me realize how important the temple is. I think Ive said it before but we dont enter the temple to prepare for a mission. I truly believe we go on a mission because we have entered the temple. It really is a way to really dedicate your self to keeping those covenants. So little bros (and sis). DO NOT LET ANYTHING STOP YOU FROM ENTERING IN THE TEMPLE WORTHILY TO MAKE COVENANTS WITH YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER. It for reals is like THE MOST imporant thing you can do here on this earth.

Anyway. I am out of time but I really just felt a love for where I am and what Im doing this week. The church is true. We are guided by living prophets and apostles called by God, and I know that God listens to our prayers and answers them through his servants, the scriptures, and feelings from the spirit.

Family home evening :) We made kazookies.

One of my favorite little people in this ward.

My favorite little future missionary (every time we go to their house or when she sees us in sacrament meeting she asks for our nametags and watches and wears them around for a while)

Planting a mint plant for Regina (she wants each missionary to plant an herb in her garden to remember us by... dont worry I shouldnt be leaving but because my comp is we both decided to do it at the same time)

Bright and early waiting to get inside the chapel for our meeting with Elder Nelson today.

Pics from the little hike we did today. Haha half way inbetween I changed shirts because my comp wanted to take pics with my shirt that matched the flag better and my hair is all done up from the meeting with Elder Nelson. But it was a fun last minute hiking adventure

My mission mom (hna Altamirano) and her two hijitas me and hna flake

We cleaned out our gross garage/ patio......

Love you all!!

Have a great week!

Same Old Awesome Week!

Well. lets see whats going on here? Haha just the same old same old. But its awesome and Im loving it. I really feel so truly blessed to be in this sector at this time. As I do divisions I just see how blessed I truly am to be working with so many awesome people and to have such an awesome ward. Seriously these people are like my family I love them to death.

So there are 2 weeks left of the transfer and we are working hard to make it a really great last two weeks for hermana orton. Im sure gonna miss her we have so much fun laughing all the time. Ive never had a companion that Ive gotten along better with so itll be sad to see her go. But we will be going to byu at the same time so we will be seeing each other lots (mom and dad Im gonna send her with a USB with pics also I already volunteered your help to find her a good mac on ksl and to help her learn how to do family history haha)

So this week we lost una fecha bautismal but honestly I was really happy about it. Omar was gonna get baptized this next saturday but we talked to him and he told us that he wants to get baptized as a complete commitment to God and be absolutely sure that he is doing it forever so he asked to have an interview with the bishop to help him understand a few things and so that he can get a second opinion and that he will decide his date this week. I was really happy because sometimes you teach people and you just hope and wonder if they really understand the importance of this covenant they are making but after talking we could see that he really does and that he really desires to make that covenant with God and be absolutely faithful to it for the rest of his life. I was so proud. Haha I think I told you guys about his Gym buddy Luis that is getting baptized too right? So this wednesday they planned to go to the gym together and then the Elders english class and then to see the bishop together. Haha its pretty fun and cute to see how excited he gets about having a friend to do everything with him. So please pray lots for Omar so he can choose a good date for baptism. He is the sweetest.

We keep fasting a lot. I cannot even express how much I am learning to love it. SOOOOO MANY MIRACLES come from it.

Hmmmmmm what else.... Oh yeah! Elder Nelson is coming next monday! That will be awesome. It will be a cool last pday for hna Orton. Hermana Altamirano (my trainer) would be leaving but she was able to extend a month to be able to go to the temple with Cleber to get his endowments. So we are reeeaaaaalllly excited for that. Its gonna be great.

I really love this work. I love being a missionary and I love everything that Im learning day to day.

This week I was thinking about mistakes that Ive made in my life and in the mission. Nothing big but just things like the other day when I should have called someone but I didnt. Or when I wish I would have shared that scripture, or loved that person more, etc etc. And sometimes thats frustrating because I cant go back and change it or fix it but as I thought about it I was just sooooo grateful for a savior that made it possible for me to mess up. I dont need to freak out when I do something wrong or when Im not perfect. (For those that know me well they can tell that Im a bit .... or a lot..... of a perfectionist) I can just be grateful that God made it possible for me to keep going when I mess up. Im so glad that he has so much patience with me and that he helps me every day to be better, to learn through trials, to help me feel loved when I get down on myself etc. Im so grateful that Christ was willing to pay for my errors so that I dont have to be perfect all at once. Because of Him we have a whole life in which to improve and mess up and repent and trust in the Lord. Im so glad that He can take me weak imperfect state and make me something so much better. :)

Well I have to go. But I love you all and cant wait to hear from you next week.

With love

On divs with hna bangerter (from my mtc group) so much fun

Decorating Isidoras (our investigator thats 14 years old) room with positive notes and a one direction book.

We dressed up as each other for halloween. Lots of the members of the ward had a pretty good laugh. We even did each others hair and makeup.

Coming back from concilio de liderazgo. Its the big rich part of the city where they have cool address numbers.

 Recorrido with Omar.
